Zoe-perry
Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. Her parents, however, did not want her to take on acting roles until she was older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry claimed that she was nervous to be an actor at the age of 16, but she began acting in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring from Boston University. Perry began her career in New York after graduation, performing in minor parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry come back to California and pursue a career as an actress in the theater. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie with her in 2015. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. Perry was also featured in a role on ABC's political thriller Scandal alongside her father. Also, she was cast on The CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The role was selected by auditions, even though she had a close connection with it.
